Guest at ARTECHNE project: Vossius Research Fellow Cesare Pastorino
Cesare Pastorino will join the Vossius Center and the ERC ARTECHNE project in May for three months as a Research Fellow with his project ‘The Dense and Rare: Quantification of Matter and the Exchange of Practical and Learned Knowledge in Early Modern Europe’.
About the researcher
Cesare Pastorino is Gerda Henkel research fellow at the Technische Universität Berlin. Pastorino received his PhD from the Department of History and Philosophy of Science at Indiana University, Bloomington (2011). His work focuses on science, experimentation and practical knowledge in early modern Europe. His new project, The Weight of Things, has recently been awarded a DFG 3-year research grant. Previously, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Berlin Center for the History of Knowledge. He also worked for several years in leading digital history projects: The Chymistry of Isaac Newton and The Newton Project.
