Vacancy: Professorship in Early Modern History, 1500–1800 (open rank)

A Professorship in Early Modern History, 1500–1800 is to be filled at the Faculty of
Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Basel, with the appointment scheduled
to begin on February 1, 2023 or by appointment with the successful applicant.

Your Position
The appointee will cover all aspects of the subject in research and teaching. Her/his interests in research and teaching should contribute to deepen the focus on “European History in Global Perspective” established at the Department of History. A willingness to contribute to the department’s curriculum in Swiss history is expected, as is enthusiasm for cross-periodical perspectives and interdisciplinary collaboration.
